Official Debut: Silphidae ''Silphi''

Disturbed by her countless failures at taking over an Empire, Chrysalis retreated her army into hiding so she could come up with a better plan...
Upon discovering the Elements of Harmony's victory against the almighty Lord Tirek and him being sent to Tartarus; Chrysalis had an idea.
Disquising herself as a guard, Chrysalis snuck into Tartarus and extracted whatever power Tirek had left stored within him; leaving him utterly defenseless. Storing that power, Chrysalis had decided to create the ultimate Changeling. With Tirek's power and Chrysalis' wits, she was sure she would create a takeover prodigy.

When Silphidae hatched, Chrysalis was surprised to see she took the form of a Royal Changeling, such as herself. She looked clearly distinguishable among the other Changelings; She had a grey mane with red wings and yellowing in the corneas. And her horn, it took a shape quite similar to both Tirek's horns.. clearly visible traits passed down by Tirek's power source. Chrysalis was quite proud of her new heir, and began training her the Changeling ways at once.

However, as Silphidae grew, Chrysalis couldn't help but notice her "daughter" seemed weak; she was powerful as Chrysalis had hoped, and mastered the art of disquise within a day, but her power did not last long. It would dissipate within minutes of being cast; longest run being at around 15 minutes. And when it came to extracting love from creatures, it was a quick and simple task to her, but she could only do it once a day, for it took more out of her than shapeshifting. Chrysalis suspects this weak behavior was due to extracting Tirek's power while he was weak himself. A minor setback to Chrysalis, but she still kept a watchful eye on her heir, and doesn't allow Siphi to go anywhere without Changeling escorts to guard her.

As for Silphi, she is aware of her weakness and differences between herself and the other Changelings around her. She understands she must extract love from other creatures as nourishment, however; she actually doesn't seem interested in tricking ponies and other animals into becoming her "meal". She knows Changelings' do not have their own hearts and can not feel love themselves, yet she also feels that Changelings' must have some sort of mechanism of creating emotion in order for Chrysalis to worry about her in the first place. 
Despite her mothers plan, Silphidae actually turned out to be a rather curious Changeling, and is more interested in learning about ponies than tricking them.. but of course, that is not the Changeling way of life.

And for those wondering, in my headcanon, Chrysalis is what I like to call a "Royal Changeling", seeing as she's clearly distinctive against all the other normal Changelings. In my world, Royal Changelings are born with more pony like features such as different eyes, body shapes, personalities, smarts; whereas regular Changelings all have an overall similar design. Royal Changelings are rare, and only one will ever be hatched during the current Queens reign. Chrysalis can never create another Royal Changeling.
