Night Patrol

(Waiting for nightfall, Apple Spritz sat in Crescendo's room staring out the window) 

Spritz: So.. how much longer are we going to keep this a secret?

Crescendo: *putting his pen down* Well, Nova's in the process of moving out of the Castle, so the Newsponies are still pretty active around here.. *walks over to her* Why? Is it bothering you?

Spritz: Only a bit.. It's just - My family, or at least my mother, always raised me to live an honest life. No secrets, no lies; I know it's not a bad lie or a secret that'll get me into danger, but.. I hate having to hide it from everypony. Especially Nova.. I've always told her everything.

Crescendo: *sits beside her and smiles sadly* Spritzy, listen - I promised you we'd announce ourselves once everything's back to normal. It's been a busy few months around here.. I'm doing this for you. I know how much you hate getting your picture taken. *chuckles* 

Spritz: *rolls her eyes but smiles a bit*  I know.. I just hope it's soon. Keeping this from everypony is getting to me. I just want to be together without all this sneaking around..

Crescendo: Well, on the plus side; Sneaking around is kinda fun though.. It's like we have our own little world that only the two of us have control over.. *leans in* And the thrill of getting caught at any moment. *smiles teasingly at her* 

Spritz: *blushes a bit and shoves him away playfully* Jerk.. *laughs though* 

Crescendo: *smiles and gives her a kiss on the forehead* Try not to worry about it, Spritzy. It'll work out.

(After the sun was lowered and Crescendo left to aid Luna in bringing on the night, Apple Spritz snuck out of the Castle and made her way through Ponyville on her way home to the farm. Looking up at the stars, she smiled; knowing that Crescendo helps bring the stars out at night now, it was a nice feeling to know that something he created was watching over her as she walked home alone at night

Just as Apple Spritz entered the forestry area of the outskirts of Ponyville, she stopped and heared hoofsteps somewhere around her)

Spritz: What was... Hello? *looking around* Is there somepony there?

(Spritz circles a few more times nervously hearing the hoofprints getting closer until she turns and gets hit in the face by a bright light)

Spritz: What the?! Ow! *cringes and flinches from the bright light*

Chimi: Hey, Spritzy! *shining a flashlight on her face* What are you doing out this late?! 

Spritz: Chimi? Ugh, I could ask you the same thing - can you get that thing out of my face?! 

Chimi: What thing? Oh! Right, the flashlight, ha! Sorry.. *the flashlight sinks into Chimi's mane* So whatcha doing out here? Seems awfully late to be going home now. Where were you?

Spritz: *tries not to blush and thinks a bit for an excuse* I uh, I was helping out a friend. Ended up losing track of time.

Chimi: Really? Who?

Spritz: Uh.. *changing the subject* Why you out here shining flashlights in ponies faces anyways?

Chimi: Me? Oh, well Mayor Tiara asked me to be on patrol tonight! That's right, Chimi the Crime Watcher! So you better not be causing any mischief out here tonight, Spritzy, 'cuz I'll find out! *pretending to be all serious* And I'll be comin' for ya!

Spritz: Ahuh, well, you're safe with me, Chimi; no mischief here on my end... Just a normal pony helping a pony in need. *fakes a yawn* Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm pretty tuckered out..

Chimi: Yeaah.. I get it. Not everypony is strong enough to keep energy going throughout the night; Which is why I'm perfect as a nighttime patrol pony! *squees* But ok, I'll let you get home so you can get some shut eye.. Bye Spritzy! *hops away* 

Spritz: Good night! *yells to her as she leaves and then sighs in relief* Phew.. that was a close one. I may need to figure out Chimi's patrol schedule if I plan to keep this going...
